Would like to install a flagstone floor over my outside pressure treated porch.?

Is there a way to do this without breaking up the decking and pouring a cement foundation? Thinking of screwing cement backer board into the wood and then laying stone on top (similar to laying tile). Porch is sturdy and 4'w x 20'l x28"h.

What is a low cost solution to an interior floor with dull purple “flagstone” set in concrete?

It is about 1/2" below the tile in adjoining rooms. It ha a rough, unfinished, uneven appearance, more appropriate for outdoors. I want to use this room for a family room or bedroom. Will I have to break up the existing floor before I can improve or replace it? Is this hard to do?

Can you substitute slate floor tiles for flagstone in the yard?

I want to put in a small patio. About 12' x 5' and was planning on using flagstone, until I saw the price. $9.99/sq. ft. However, I found boxes of slate floor tiles in the clearance isle for $.1.87/sq. ft. Just want to know if it can be done and they won't break if they freeze or something.
