Flagstone and saltwater?

I just had a in-ground pool built with flagstone coping and a saltwater chlorination system. Now I'm finding out that flagstone and saltwater don't mix too well (depending on the type of flagstone). How can I protect my investment? Should I use something like Coronado Paint Final Finish clear to seal it? Do I really need to worry a lot about mixing salt and flagstone? Am I toast?
