The sun is shining so there's no better time to write all about the virtues of the great British summer, we love it when the sun comes out, people become instantly happy (before moaning about the air conditioning in the office and how they'd rather be outside), windows get flung open and rusty barbeques become the star of the show....... If you're anything like me you'll be jealous of those people who have a beautiful grassy lawn, accessed from the house by a set of double French doors.

Having said that, your outdoor space doesn't have to be palatial, a lot can be done with a tiny patio or grassy area with a little love and attention to detail.
