What is a low cost solution to an interior floor with dull purple “flagstone” set in concrete?

It is about 1/2" below the tile in adjoining rooms. It ha a rough, unfinished, uneven appearance, more appropriate for outdoors. I want to use this room for a family room or bedroom. Will I have to break up the existing floor before I can improve or replace it? Is this hard to do?

  2. . .Self Levelling Concrete

This should work for you. Make sure the flagstone is set firm and not moving.

Pour the self levelling concrete over the floor till it’s level and the height you want.
